Case Study

Challenges

Marvell has over 7,000 global users, who were using on-premise AirWatch (VMWare) for MDM for their mobile services and on-premise Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) for windows client deployment – they were looking to implement a cloud-based Unified Endpoint Management that includes zero-touch device onboarding and management of company laptops for a geographically dispersed workforce – and thus eliminating IT workloads of imaging, and allowing direct delivery of hardware to employees and eliminating the licensing costs for AirWatch.

Solutions

Netwoven worked with Marvell on the transformation from VMWare AirWatch to Microsoft Intune as their MDM solution, and then the transformation from MDT (Microsoft deployment toolkit) to Autopilot.

Netwoven worked with Marvell previously on the Proof of Concept for MDM. This project (Autopilot) was the next phase of the overall transformation from an on-prem client management environment to a cloud-based UEM (Unified Endpoint Management), based on Microsoft Intune.

Netwoven solution architects deeply collaborated with Marvell to deploy a fully functional Proof of Concept in their environment of Windows Autopilot - demonstrating all of the features and functions required by the organization such as:

  • Strategies for new and existing devices
  • Automatic enrollment
  • Application deployment
  • Regional and global policy deployment

The benefits

Netwoven migrated Marvell from an on-premise MDT to Windows Autopilot successfully and facilitated them in rolling out globally. Some key customer benefits are:

  • Using Windows Autopilot to reset, repurpose, and recover devices.
  • Enable Marvell IT with little to no infrastructure to manage devices.
  • Windows Autopilot simplified the Windows device lifecycle, for both IT and end-users, from initial deployment to end of life.
  • Reduced the time IT spends on deploying, managing, and retiring devices.
  • Maximizes ease of use for all types of end-users.
  • Help increase Marvell’s overall security posture.
